Our First Final of the season was the U17 League Cup Final held in Turner's Cross on the 30th November.

Cobh’s Shane Hennessy was the hero of the night when his predatory like hat trick was enough to sink City in a lively Daly Industrial-Viking league Cup Final at Turner’s Cross yesterday evening.
Scenes of jubilation was displayed by the Cobh subs and mentors when referee Keith Callanan blew the final whistle.
For much of the final it was end-to-end action in a game that had high tempo, passion and some good football and it did not take long before the fireworks started when City’s Denis O’Mahoney shot agonisingly wide after latching on to a neat through ball in the 4th minute.
At the other end, Hennessy’s weak header from Brian Smith’s corner was easily dealt with by City’s Kiaran McEnery.
Then David Myler won good possession on the right before Martin Donovan’s tremendous effort from 30 yards out flashed narrowly past the post.
City had a good chance to open their account when Stephen O’Driscoll went on a good run down the right that took him past his defender before floating a low cross in for Denis O’Mahoney but the City striker miss-cued his effort right in front of goal and the chance was wasted.
City scuffed another gilt-edge chance when Stephen O’Driscoll’s headed effort went straight at the Cobh keeper from a curling free taken by Brendan Daly.
City were enjoying a good spell at this stage and O’Mahoney was in action again when his decent headed effort forced the Cobh keeper to push the ball away from danger.
Then it was Brendan O’Driscoll’s turn next when he threw his two hands high in despair after seeing his headed effort go straight into the Cobh keeper’s hands with the goal at his mercy.
But it was Cobh who eventually took the initiative when Garreth Cambridge controlled the ball well on the left before crossing low into the box.
City’s Michael McSweeney failed to intercept his cross and Shane Hennessy was on hand to slot the ball home for the opener in the 37th minute.
City’s equaliser came in the 53rd minute when Christy O’Brien drilled his penalty effort home after Stephen O’Driscoll was fouled by Pa Sullivan inside the box.
Cobh had a chance when Garreth Cambridge just failed to get a touch on a diagonal cross from the right in the 60th minute.
Then City’s Stephen O’Driscoll turned his defender before forcing a sprawling save from Kelly.
City were punished for slack defending when failure to clear their lines from a Garreth Cambridge corner allowed Shane Hennessy to stab the ball home in predatory style for his second goal of the evening in the 65th minute.
Minutes later, City’s Dean Grainger saw his magnificent effort from 30 yards out smack off the bar and away to safety.
Cobh’s Pa Sullivan came to his side’s rescue when his timely block prevented City’s Paul Deasy from getting a shot in on goal from close range.
City were doing their best to apply pressure for the equaliser but were caught cold when Cobh’s Brendan O’Sullivan took off down the right before his low cross reached the available Shane Hennessy and the Cobh striker made no mistake when his directed shot hit the back of the City net for game set and match.
